Endocannabinoid System Or (ECS)

Endocannabinoid: Endo-meaning short for endogenous. Endogenous- means produced naturally inside

your body. Cannabinoid comes from Cannabis...

So, Endocannabinoid means a cannabis like substance that naturally occurs inside of us and our pets.

This Endocannabinoid system keeps the/our body in homeostasis. In other words, it keeps our internal

environment stable no matter what our external environment is doing. Our bodies act like the indicators

in our cars. If we get hungry, low on fuel, our ECS regulates that area and makes our stomach growl,

feed me! If our heart rate goes up or down, blood pressure, our ECS regulates the blood flow and

pressure. The ECS brings our body back to normal range, Homeostasis.

How does ECS transfer these signals? It transfers through cannabinoid receptors found throughout your

body and nervous system.

CB1 receptors regulate your central nervous system (brain, nerves, spinal cord)

CB2 receptors regulate the peripheral nervous system or extremities (digestive and immune syst

 

PAIN – INFLAMMATION

In our Pets Endocannabinoid System (ECS) they have an endogenous cannabinoid

called Anandamide. Anandamide regulates inflammation, pain, mood swings,

brain function and memory. An enzyme called FAAH breaks down our Pets own

Anandamide causing an increase in inflammation, pain, mood swings and

attention. This is where CBD comes to the rescue! CBD actually INHIBITS the

production of FAAH which INCREASES our Pets natural Anandamide which leads

to a REDUCTIONS of inflammation, pain and once again you’ll have a happy

attentive tail wagging Pet.

 

ANXIETY

As a pet owner anxiety and stress are very hard to control. Fireworks, thunder,

neighbors shouting, moving and adding a NEW PET to the family are triggers

which can put our pets into a tail spin.  What to do??

CBD works to INCREASE Serotonin levels, at a cellular level, in our pets’ brain

which reduces anxiety, stress and calms repetitive behavior. CBD also acts as a

neuroprotectant. Which helps degeneration of nerve cells.

 

SEIZURES

Seizures and or epilepsy is uncontrolled electricity in your pets’ brain. CB1

receptors are primarily in the nervous system and in the brain. CBD woks with

these receptors to calm down the neurons firing during a seizure which decreases

the electrical charge in your pets’ brain.

 

NAUSEA

Various illnesses, opiates and chemotherapy greatly increases Serotonin

production which is what causes nausea and vomiting. CBD works for nausea and

vomiting by decreasing Serotonin production in the intestines.

 

CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH

CBD reduces damaged blood vessels and irregular heart rates. It protects the

blood vessels and can reduces heart rate and blood pressure.

 

TUMORS AND SKIN TAGS

CBD affects Tumors through modulation of the immune responses during

inflammation processes and their immunosuppressive effects.
